“C” Garnet Filter Media is an inert and stable mineral that doesn’t contain any 
ingredients requiring classification under WHMIS regulations.  
“C” Garnet is chemically inert, with less than 1% free silica and no heavy 
metals. 
Garnet is classified in Fisheries and Oceans Canada Report #1692 of Jan, 91 as: 

(a) Having moderate to low toxicity to fish, i.e. 96-h LC50 > 100 mg/L.  

(Test value was >70000 mg/L.). 

(b) Not known to be persistent and not likely to accumulate in animal tissues.
